I believe my recent activity reflects this improvement, and I am confident that those past mistakes no longer represent how I play or conduct myself.

What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:

One of the things that I believe makes me stand out as a candidate is my involvement in leadership. I know how to lead by example, how to manage responsibility, and how to act professionally when it is required. This is exemplified in my time within the general security department and the medical department where I am a Captain and Consultant respectively. These roles have required me to also become a decision maker which I believe is another factor that makes me stand out. My roles have required me to sometimes make split-second decisions that can make or break a situation. This has made me into a better “mentor” to newer players. I often find myself teaching new things such as protocol, mechanics, or even lore to newer players which I think is important in all aspects of the game because there will always be somebody who is unfamiliar with something and it is important to teach people things. I also know how to enforce disciplinary action as I frequently have to do that within GSD as sometimes we get minges. I think that also makes me a better leader because I understand that sometimes people make honest mistakes and just need guidance., while also understanding that some people need to learn the hard way. I am also determined in my work, if I put my mind on something I will give it 110% . I will go overboard because that’s just who I am by nature. I am competitive and I like to show it. I also think growth is really important in terms of progression because as my bans section mentioned I was somewhat of a minge, a year or 2 ago when I was young and stupid and I am proud to see myself turn this around. It just shows to me that I really cared enough to stop ruining people’s days and wanting to see myself do better by progressing the ranks within the foundation.

What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:

Ethics Committee Assistants (ECA’s) are the representatives of the Ethics Committee and they make sure that Foundation operations are operating within the codes such as the Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct and the Facility Legal Codex. They observe operations to make sure everything is ethical. They can sign documents that require ethics approval. They also help out the Ethics Committee members and chairman/chairwoman, they are sometimes issued orders by them that they need to carry out. They provide reports to ECM’s and ECC’s. l ECA’s can also report if operations are unethical and may report a need for an audit. They can carry out inspections departments as well to see if they are carrying out operations ethically and legally. They can also authorize the Advanced Armory when criteria are met. ECA’s are also allowed to become arbiters for ISD cases and in some cases participate in said cases as judges, lawyers, or even the jury. In RP ECA’s must also be professional and impartial at all times. In RP they can sometimes hear out cases of D-Class mistreatment such as in D-Block or in research experiments. Overall they are making sure that personnel are being treated fairly and that operations are being upheld to policies.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Note; If I do get accepted I would like my character’s name to be; Sterling Voss

Sterling Voss was born into the Voss family, a name widely known throughout the corporate circles for its wealth, influence, and controversy. For centuries beginning from the 1700s the Voss family built a powerful business empire, but their overwhelming success came with a number of allegations of corruption, malpractice, fraud, and unethical decision making from the board. While international governments could not secure convictions, the reputation of the Voss family became more tarnished with every allegation thrown at them. Their family motto created by Sterling’s grandfather Beumont Voss sums up the family’s reputation. “Exitus Omnia Iustificat” The Outcome Justifies Everything. However growing up around this family legacy, it nurtured a different perspective within Sterling, he understood how in the pursuit of success the failure to admit accountability and responsibility can damage reputation and destroy faith in a system. Instead of inheriting an empire Sterling went on to study leadership, political science, and ethical governance at his family’s alma mater Cornell. After graduating Summa cum laude, Sterling Voss was sought out by the foundation, he saw their offer as the ultimate test for his life. A place where he could put his principles, his beliefs above all. A place where his family’s mistakes could help him make a difference. Sterling went to work, he quickly realized that because the Foundation possessed more power than any international governing body he realized that responsibility, accountability, and ethics were the most vital parts of the entire way the system ran. Sterling became known for his impartiality, professionalism, and his profound adherence to the Code of Ethics, which he named the “greatest piece of literary work of all time”. On the night of XX at around XX:XXPM Sterling Voss receives a complaint filed by a D-Class regarding researchers deviating from research procedures and to back this claim up the medical department has reported an increase of research-experiment deaths by 12% in the last few weeks. Sterling found this obscene and immediately filed a motion to initiate an audit of the research department. The investigation found that Researcher XXXXXX was found to breach 173 testing protocols and this resulted in Sterling having to make a choice, was this an honest mistake? Or an entire department to blame? Dozens of workers saw the protocol violation in broad daylight yet it was a D-Class, a death row inmate the most unetical of them all that reported the violation. An example had to be made. The researcher was arrested by ISD and after serving his time was put on a tribunal where Sterling was a prosecutor. He preached the CoE like it was a bible and as a result the Researcher was placed on immediate work probation and a firm reprimand was handed out. Where the Voss family would overlook these discrepancies in favor of results, Sterling believes that this case was a sign of what he calls “fate”. This case reaffirmed the purpose behind his life and his decision to join the Foundation. For Sterling, the case served as a reminder that systems fail because they aren’t kept in check. When people witness yet do not report. Trust is a thread that binds success. This thread must be maintained by everyone no matter the rank, reputation, or outcome.
