Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?:
I have been working hard in medical for a while now, and I wish to help to make medical a better place to work in. I feel as if I'm a good fit for the position, and I hope that I could provide my experience and knowledge to other medical personnel. I have really enjoyed working with medical, and I do really feel at home with other medical personnel. I think this position will let me take the roleplay I’m already doing to the next level and make it more immersive and exciting, while also giving me access to new scenarios that were previously outside my clearance within the medical field and helping me contribute more to the overall experience.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
I have worked hard as a Sr. Doctor, trying to provide my at most of my abilities. I try to show professionalism when the situation calls for it, attending all of my patients and helping others as much as possible. I try to keep up with the changes as well alongside with teaching other medical personnel the changes that happen, trying to keep medical at their best. Furthermore, I have CL4 experience due to my previous rank as an MTF MAJ alongside discipline. I'm also very active, as I try to be on as soon as I could possibly can, hoping that I could help with possible situations when other Medical leadership isn't available.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
My choice of procedure would be how to remove bullets from a patient in surgery:
First, before any operation could be performed, I'll make sure that any bleeding is stopped using a tourniquet. The Patient be brought to the surgery room, making sure to wash my hands before I bring the patient onto the surgical table, and is given anesthetics, as it would put the patient to sleep and make them unable to feel any pain during the surgery.
Next, I would investigate where the bullet wounds are located, making sure to keep track of where they are. I would get myself surgical tweezers and carefully remove the bullet. If the bullet refuses to be removed, further action is needed by getting a scalpel and carefully cut out whatever is stopping the bullet to be removed.
If the vitals are showing instability or other bad signs, then further action is needed to stabilize the patient. Based on the situation, different actions are needed, in the case of accidental damage to an organ, the damage must be carefully close and sealed, depending on the blood loss, may also need a transfusion.
Once all the bullets have been removed, it's important to inspect the patient to look for any more possible bullets that may or may not be on the patient. The patient is to be sealed up again by stitching any cuts that were made during the surgery, and the patient is carefully brought to the recovery room to recover. The Patient would be asked if they are feeling okay as confirmation that the surgery is successful and the patient doesn't have any other hidden issues that could have been missed.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
The primary duty of a consultant is to support the Directors of Medicine and provide training to both trainees and combat medics. The responsibility of consultants is to maintain the wellbeing of medical personnel, and mainly other site personnel, keeping them at the top of their health. Their duty is to also assist with any issues that medical might be facing with RP, and must step in to help. As a J-CL4, they also must step in to help with issues of other CL4 personnel, such as psychological evaluations, surgeries, etc. where lower level medical personnel can't assist with.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Born in 1940 during the closing months of World War II, John Benedict was the son of "Arthur Benedict", a war hero of WWII. Known for his extreme skills of technological craftsmanship, creating some of the most famous tanks. When he was 10, John Benedict enjoyed taking broken old radios and repurposing the parts to attempt to recreate other devices based on his father's schematics. However, not long after in the age of 11, he acquired a new interest; the interest of how the various animals worked in the inside. John would start on looking for anything small that was available, such as frogs, and began to dissect them and studied on how they worked. Using a nearby medical school, he realized that he could learn more by looking through the windows just to understand more, however he was often caught and brought back out, as John Benedict and his family couldn't afford the school. In the age of 20, he opened a local underground hospital and help others to get back up to health, using his skills he had learned as a child. And not long after in 1962 in the age of 22, he was drafted into the military to help in the Cold War, and he assisted in the creations of some machines and tech. However, unlike his father, John Benedict excelled more at the medical field than technology, more than the military's current medics. After the Cold War has ended, he was unexpectedly drugged and kidnapped, and by the time he woke up, he found himself in the SCP Foundation and was offered a job there as medical staff. Fascinated with the anomalies, he immediately began reading research papers of various SCPs that he was allowed access to and ways how each effect could be cured. Using his knowledge, he began to help site personnel of their medical problems and other anomalous effects that they have acquired, and with each successful procedure, he climbed the titles and ranks that proved his skills and knowledge are nothing to overlook.
