Why are you applying for Director of External Affairs?
I've spent years working my way through the DEA, from Agent all the way to Department Manager. I've seen how external relations can make or break an operation, and I believe I have the experience, the contacts, and the drive to lead the department at the highest level. The Director role is where I can make the most meaningful impact, not just executing orders, but shaping policy and direction for the department as a whole.
What makes you suitable for Director of External Affairs?:
I have a strong track record of leadership across departments, both within the Foundation and in other contexts. I've led negotiations, managed inter-departmental relations, and maintained ongoing ties with various Groups of Interest. I was previously a Special Agent and was offered a Manager position, demonstrating that others have recognized my leadership potential. I'm experienced with breaches, cross-department cooperation, and high-pressure decision-making, all critical for a Director.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of External Affairs in RP?:
Overseeing all DEA operations and setting the strategic direction of the department.
Maintaining and developing diplomatic relations with Groups of Interest such as MC&D, the Chaos Insurgency, and others.
Authorising and reviewing permits issued to GOI members.
Leading and hosting training exercises, wargames, and joint operations with other MTF units or GOIs.
Ensuring the department upholds Foundation policy and secrecy protocols.
Acting as the final authority on recruitment and promotion within the DEA.
Serving as a role model and point of escalation for all DEA personnel.

Billy "Villager" Bob's ascent to Director of External Affairs was as unconventional as the man himself. Having spent years operating in the shadows as a field agent, making contact with isolated communities, anomalous-adjacent factions, and entities most agents would never dare approach, Bob built a reputation as someone who could get results where others couldn't.
Now elevated to Director, Bob brings that same enigmatic, no-nonsense approach to the leadership of the entire department. His storylines would centre around high-stakes diplomatic negotiations with MC&D over permit violations, covert back-channel dealings with CI leadership to prevent open conflict, and uncovering a mole within the DEA leaking Foundation intelligence to outside parties.
His mysterious past continues to surface, old contacts reaching out, debts being called in, and fragments of a history he's never fully disclosed even to Foundation oversight. Bob walks the razor's edge between loyalty to the Foundation and the murky world of external affairs, where the line between ally and enemy is never truly clear.
