What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion proposes improving the Facility Announcement System (FAS) by removing outdated location references (e.g., Floor 2, Internal Affairs), adding the new SCPs locations, and introducing custom announcements tied to specific job roles — such as Mass D-Class Termination, Site Lockdown or specific area lockdowns like EZ or HCZ, Evacuation Protocol, and targeted callouts (e.g., “E-11 to HCZ”, “ISD to CDC” and removing some relying on comms). While CL3 personnel can already announce Code 1–5, the current system is rarely used besides calling Codes because those announcements are very limited. This update aims to make the system more dynamic and useful for day-to-day RP.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I dont believe so if so then i didnt search well.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Increases usage of a currently ignored system, making it a meaningful part of roleplay again.
Adds variety and realism by tying announcements to the actual structure and command hierarchy of the site.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Potential for Abuse if Not Restricted: If new announcements are not limited to specific jobs or cooldowns, it may lead to spam or no.
Requires dev time to implement new messages and requires new voice lines which could take time and coordination.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The Facility Announcement System is supposed to be a critical part of Site RP we must not rely just on comms, and right now it feels outdated and underused. Updating it to match the current Site layout, Current SCP, and structure would greatly boost immersion and enable more and better roleplay. The negatives are minor and can be mitigated by restricting usage permissions and cooldowns. Overall, this suggestion adds value without introducing complexity.
