Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
I am applying for the Medical Consultant position because I deeply enjoy working in the medical department and creating medical-based roleplay. I believe that with this role, I will be able to help elevate the roleplay I'm already doing to a higher level and create more engaging scenarios with the new opportunities this role allows, while also being able to partake in new situations that would have been previously above my clearance level. Throughout my time playing as a Sr. Doctor and a Combat Medic, I have gained the necessary experience and have become a well-equipped Doctor overall, allowing me to be a good fit for this position.
Additionally, I also enjoy guiding trainees who are new to the department by teaching them about how medbay functions while also attempting to include them in RP scenarios when plausible, and I feel that I would be able to improve the aid I'm providing them significantly as a consultant.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?
I’ve always put a lot of effort into medical RP, especially when it comes to documentation and detail. I enjoy writing thorough, realistic medical reports, keeping patient records consistent, and making sure every case feels grounded in proper procedure. I think that kind of effort helps make Medical feel more serious and structured, which is something I’d like to continue improving as a Consultant.
I’ve also spent a lot of time conducting psych evals and long medical sessions with personnel. I enjoy exploring the roleplay of treatment, and I believe that helps create a more engaging and believable experience for everyone involved.
Overall, I think I’d be suitable for Consultant because I am consistent, active, detail orientated and genuinely care about keeping the Medical Department professional and active. I want to help make the department a place where people can rely on proper and efficient procedure, whilst still having room for creative and engaging medical RP.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
My medical procedure of choice is a burn wound from SCP-457.
If a member of staff suffers burns from SCP-457, the first priority would be to move them to a safe area and ensure any lasting flames are extinguished. Once they are out of immediate danger, I would begin assessing the severity of the burns and ensure the patient is stable and conscious.
I would then cool the affected area using saline or cool water to prevent further damage to the tissue. After that, I’d carefully clean away any loose debris or charred clothing. Once the area is clean, I’d apply a thin layer of burn ointment and dress the wound with sterile bandages.
For pain management, I’d administer a mild sedative or painkiller, monitor their vitals and keep them under observation for signs of infection or lasting damage, depending on where the burn occurred.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
A Medical Consultant is responsible for keeping the department running smoothly. They oversee doctors and trainees, make sure medical procedures are being followed correctly and help maintain standards in RP scenarios.
Consultants also handle training, medical licensing, and organising department activity, making sure all staff have something meaningful to do. They act as a bridge between medical and site leadership, passing on information, assisting with changes in policy and helping with any medical matters that involve other departments.
Overall, the Consultant's job is to maintain structure, professionalism and consistency within the medical department, ensuring it remains an active and respected part of the Foundation.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Doctor Hoka Eggbert
Age: 30
Place of Birth: Reigate, United Kingdom
Department: Medical
Clearance: CL3
Background Information:
Before starting his career with the foundation, Hoka worked at a psychiatric unit as a therapist, specialising in helping patients who were struggling with mental health issues or behaviour issues; specifically psychosis. They had worked as a therapist for just over three years after achieving a Doctorate in Psychology.
Ever since he was a child, Hoka had wanted to be a therapist. Both of his parents had worked in the mental health sector while he was growing up and had consequently taught him how important providing assistance to those who were struggling was. Throughout his childhood, Hoka was always motivated to follow in his parents footsteps because of their teachings, striving to help people whenever possible; leading to him pursing a career in psychology and eventually landing a position as a therapist.
As time passed, Hoka slowly adapted to his line of work, adjusting his methods and becoming more equipped to handle tougher situations. Hoka had been able to provide help to numerous patients who had been struggling with psychosis; so when a new patient was admitted into his care, he was expecting the procedure to go smoothly.
This patient was unlike any other though.
Hoka attempted to go through his normal procedures with his new patient, but despite how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to be able to comprehend anything being said to him. The man in the raggy labcoat would go on and on to Hoka about some sort of Foundation, describing classified SCP’s and spilling secrets to him. At first, Hoka just saw this as some kind of psychosis induced hallucination, not thinking too much of it until the next session between the two rolled around.
As Hoka walked into the consultation room where the second session was supposed to be held, he was met with unfamiliar faces. A group of foundation officers stood around the room, guns holstered at their sides. One of the officers stepped forward, debriefing Hoka on the situation. At this point, Hoka was offered a choice. Be forcefully amnesticated to forget everything he was told by the rogue researcher, or come and join them at the Foundation.
Out of curiosity and panic, he accepted.
Time at the Foundation:
After arriving at Site-65, Hoka was given a basic briefing, introducing him to his new living quarters and his new duties. It took him a while to adjust, constantly feeling under pressure in the overwhelming environment. Over time, Hoka slowly became more adjusted to his new responsibilities, becoming more well equipped at helping personnel who had been injured in the facility.
Hoka finally started to show his worth when it came to the Psychological aspect of care, successfully evaluating and helping to treat a multitude of personnel who had been struggling with mental health problems whether it be from mental exhaustion due to overworking themselves or if they were struggling with their mental state after an interaction with an SCP.
