Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
As I've said multiple times before, both in applications and out of it, I have a deep care for the research department and it's members. The department is the lifeline of the server and without it nothing has reason to function, additionally I believe the most enjoyable roleplay comes from this department as it has the most variety and potential for its roleplay.

The primary factor that appeals to me however, is the ability to help others within the department more thoroughly. The only thing I enjoy more than my own roleplay is helping to create and develop roleplay for others, especially those who actively try to roleplay around the Site. The research department often gets new members to the server and the deciding factor on whether they stay or not is their first experience. It is my belief that they should be able to have an enjoyable time within research and be encouraged to let their creativity flourish.

Another thing that draws me to the role is the opportunities to interact more with other departments. It's no secret that in recent times there have been some inter-departmental strains on relations and this causes some roleplay to slow, halt or simply be avoided entirely. This should never happen and departments should attempt to work in unison to facilitate and encourage roleplay amongst each other. As an Executive I would be in a position to better manage relations between our department and the site as a whole, creating an environment that can let creativity and roleplay flourish.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:

Roleplay Creation
I actively aim to help create and facilitate roleplay for both myself and others within the department. Though not a reason to accept me directly, I am often utilising my abilities as a Game Master to enhance roleplay within the department, as well as to create unique opportunities for others and myself. Currently I am working on two projects in character as Thistle that relate to this, both Leygate (relating to dimensional exploration) and T-ARC (relating to thaumaturgy). Both of these have been interacted with by others inside and outside the department.

Past Experience
I've been an Executive Researcher in the past before, though my time as such was cut short after only around 2~ months due to personal issues in my life. However, my past experience in the research department is not only as an Executive. I have been around the department as a whole for my 3 years of being on the server, it has by far been my biggest focus since joining and will continue to be so for a long time to come.

Activity
It is no secret that I, whether for better or worse, am incredibly active. I do have a hefty AFK vtime but that is due to pac work or prepping for event-related stuff, my actual playtime however is far higher than the AFK. I'm often free to speak to others, and more than happy to spend time for another's cause! I love to be of help to people, especially those within a department I care for so deeply.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?

As Thistle I've had 3-4 docs rated as "Excellent" with another document currently unread. 2-3 of these have been within the last 2 weeks, the others were when I was an Executive Researcher previously. I'd like to say I have a good idea of what makes a document "excellent".

Some research department personnel do not believe that documentation is very important, however I am of the of the opinion that it is extremely important. Though not all roleplay must result in a document, I do believe that archiving the roleplay that happens within the server is a great thing to do. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing roleplay you participated in be documented and archived on SCiPNET, especially if it is made well and rated highly.

The main factors that would make documentation excellent would be:

- Clear display of high effort.
- Highly detailed information.
- Well formatted document.
- A conclusion that is directly beneficial to the Foundation or it's mission.
- Effective use of images.
- Good use of punctuation and minimal grammatical errors.

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:

On paper, the primary responsibility of an Executive Researcher is to be there for the department. In reality however, it is to make sure the department is fun and enjoyable for everyone. I will summarise your duties it in a some points to explain how you could and would do this:

RSD Responsibilities
- Answer the questions of people both inside and outside your department. (To the best of your ability.)
- Assist in the creation of roleplay as well as creating it yourself for the department. (Such as projects.)
- Authorise tests or serve as a channel to reach those who can in the CoC. (Such as going through you before the DoR.)
- Help to be an example and lead the department.
- Attend meetings with other CL4 of your department.
- Onboard new members of the department and ensure that those who return after breaks are updated on any new policies or guideline changes.

General CL4 Responsibilities
- Access and operate CL4 blastdoors (Such as PW, breach shelter, EOC, etc.)
- Access electrical to operate teslas and FSL.
- Hold CL4 knowledge and ensure you do not leak such information.
- Be a reliable member of personnel within the site.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Lily was an amazing executive while they had it, they demonstrated what an executive should be with amazing use of both their position in research while blending it perfectly with their own role-play arcs and GM requirements. Their skills in creating role-play is phenomenal (at least while on researcher) and excels in teaching others while facilitating other researchers in what they wanted to pursue. They are one of the few thaumatologist mains that genuinely cares about role-playing seriously, and is most likely the sole reason thaumatologists aren't all considered minges.

I believe that they would be a much needed help to the current research department, even with their 2 months of executive time they were one of the most memorable I've seen in my time in the server. As a bonus, they have onboarded many new players on the server, some of which became cl4 themselves and cemented themselves as reputable members of the community, which only shows further proof of their executive skills.

The only negative I've seen from the recently was some excessively toxic response to another applicant on the forums, but people change, and I'm hoping that was a one-off issue!

Best of luck on the application!

Though I responded in private, I’d like to mention here that you’re right in terms of the negative. I was rather rude in Niko’s application, and went far beyond what was justified. At the end of the day, this is just a game, and games are made to be fun. There was no need for such an unkind response and I’d like to say I am sorry to Niko. I don’t often act like this, and will be more mindful going forward :)
