What server are you applying for: SCP-RP (USA)

Your Username: bikerman127

Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:506617712

Discord Username: bonketh_

Age: 18

What's your current playtime: 3D 22H 40M This month / I've been playing for the better part of 2 years on the server now.

Do you have a mic: Yes

Your characters name: Foundation: Bob "Biker"

Is this the first application you made? If no, link all previous applications: I have applied to Executive Researcher
https://civilnetworks.net/community/threads/usa-bob-biker-s-executive-researcher-application.31525/

Have you received any kicks/warns/bans, and if so, why: N/A

How many hours can you be on everyday: 5-8 (Off work) / 2-4 (Working days)

Do you have any previous experience as a staff member in a community: Yes, I currently serve as both a Moderator and a Developer for a Roblox game hosted on a discord server with over 670,000 total players and an average of 40,000 concurrent players. (5000+ cases handled In and out of game).

In this role I would primarily moderate the discord server for times of 2-3 hours a day and then whenever I play the game I would do the same with anyone who has issues with hackers, scammers etc...

Tell us about something that you're proud that you've achived in-game: Personally, I am proud of being able to obtain Executive researcher in a short timespan which has enabled me to improve my RP Scenarios and also aid others with their own experiments. Especially with myself being UK so I can interact with people in times when there may not be other players.

I'm also proud of helping newer or less experienced researchers and personnel get involved in RP scenarios they were unsure about. Whether it's getting a GM involved, sorting out higher-level authorisation, or just guiding them through the process, I’ve been able to make sure people aren't left clueless or stuck.

Overall, earning Executive Researcher has been a blast. I love being able to help others bring their RP ideas to life, and I’ve had the chance to be part of some seriously cool and creative tests because of it.

Why would you like to become a staff member: Through my experience as a moderator in a large community for over a year, I've found real enjoyment in contributing to the communities I'm part of and helping create a fair and enjoyable environment for everyone. That experience has helped me develop a calm, unbiased approach to handling situations, and I believe that mindset would carry over well to this server. Mainly because both mine and this server have such great similarities.

I also just have a large interest in the RP aspect of the game and there has been the occasion where I have had RP, Events etc... Ruined and really wish there could have been a way to resolve them or handle them fairly. Becoming staff would give me the tools to help others avoid those same frustrations and ensure that RP can continue smoothly for everyone.

Additionally, being a UK player gives me an advantage in terms of availability. I’m often active during off-peak hours when staff activity is lower and the likelihood of rule breakers are happening.

Finally, although this is totally based on everyone else's opinion. I feel as though people on the server somewhat think positively of me so it would be nice to somehow give back to the community and aid them in whatever way I can! :)

If you could improve something on the staff team, what would it be and how would you do so: Although the staff team is really good, I can't sit and lie when I do notice there is a lot of times when I demand a sit and I can be waiting 10+ minutes which ultimately has led me to just end up cancelling it. While this isn't an issue a lot of the time, I just feel as though availability is something that would be best improved on.

While I may be incorrect on this but it also feels like some staff members turn a blind eye to a lot of rule breaking when they are in their own RP situation, I've seen countless of times when moderators will be with me when something happens and they just walk past it even though there is plenty of reason to stop what's happening. Mainly I wish staff would be somewhat involved more rather than be active only when there is a sit.

Although I do understand every situation is different and sometimes it can break some RP immersion so it does make sense, but it is something I've noticed frequently

Hey @bikerman127 ,
I read your application and has some question regarding your staff expierence,
Could you please answer the following questions?

1. Does the community address rule violations related to roleplay?
2. Do you believe that handling cases involving cheaters and scammers is similar to dealing with issues like RDM or metagaming, where the accused can defend themselves and present valid points to prove their innocence?
3. Was there verbal communication between the parties involved in the situations, or was the process primarily based on evidence and issuing of bans or warnings?

Thanks,
Holland

Hey Holland, sorry for the late reply!

1. In the community I moderated for, RP rules were not a primary focus and only really applied if we were doing events, or specific scenarios where they would apply. But outside of those, they were not the main focus of moderation I had. With that being said though, I am very open and willing to learn because I understand the rules here base more around RP standards and I would like to try my best to adapt and improve wherever is really needed.

2. In terms of handling cases, I can't say that every situation is the same since each one would need to be approached differently based on the circumstances. I always found that in each case, evidence, logs and the opportunity for each side to explain their part is needed in order to give a fair case for each person. That being said, I don't think cheating and scamming are similar to RDM or metagaming issues since each have their own method of handling but I do think each one needs to be treated carefully and unique.

3. For handling each situation I would definitely try my best to get both parties to communicate with both me and themselves so it can all be handled together and through some discussion. But, there has been situations where all that is provided is just evidence on it's own and warnings/bans/punishment may had to have been dealt out when verbal communication wasn't an option. But mostly, I'd attempt to get communication between all parties possible.

Thank you so much for reaching out and apologies for the delay!
