What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Adds a rule that makes the minimum age of the (Lt) Commander of MTF units to be 18+
Potentially adds the age requirement can be lowered with relevant experience or with discretion of SL
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I dont know
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Adds a minor maturity buffer to a VERY important role
At least makes it so the person can be so-so trusted as it more so.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Maybe manpowershortage, if no ones eligle to be promoted to it.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
It should add a maturity and competency buffer to these 2 very important roles, i dont think someone under the age of 18 should be entrusted with this responsibility, unless they had demonstrable experience. eg 1 year as a major, already a staff member etc. Unless i am mistaken, i belive most other CL4 roles have a white list process for it and/or have a divided power system.

I dont belive there are many engatives to it, and they can be dealt with when they crop up by "at staff discretion", so a trusted person can be promoted to the position, if none are elegble.

Haven't really read anything except the title but I can tell you off the bat, it's a 13+ server which means there's a chance that a kind and disciplined 13 year old could end up an O5 at some point. Nonetheless, we've had people under 18 make that level before as well, along with O5-1, ECC, GOC COL and CI COM so I doubt the content team nor NL would approve of this idea- especially since we also accept people under the age of 18 into SL.

Why only MTF? not Dpt. Leads or FCOM? seems like you're just trying to target specific people
I would be fine with it being applied to all of them, i just as i wrote think/thought the others go through more checks than the MTF's do.
and i was when writing this contemplating just having it apply to all CL4 posts

yo icl this isn't needed nor does it help, it would only hinder regiment for SA/FCOM to pick a COM and for the LTCOM the COM, forcing people to be rank locked to major for the reason being "you are too young" is a bit silly imo
Also it seems like you've made this since someone younger than you got LTCOM

As mention by a few people it's a 13+ server so why would someone who joined at 13 for example have to wait 5 years just to progress in the server, even if they don't have to wait 5 years rank locking it like that could kill the server because people need to wait years to just progress in general

Why are we limiting people to become LTCOM over age? If they get LTCOM they worked their way up and deserve it. Plus putting it to be 18+ age restriction on a 13+ server is a tad stupid. I have may friends my age who are while very lovely a tad too all over the place where I am like the dad of the group when out, where as some of my friends who are younger, I know I can trust them on their own. Age does not mean you are mature, people just expect you to be more mature the older you get.

RULE SUGGESTION RESPONSE

Thank you for submitting this suggestion.

Following discussion, this suggestion will be denied.

We understand the concern behind the proposal.

Commanding officers (COs) hold significant responsibility within their respective units, and it is important that those promoted into these positions demonstrate maturity, reliability and the ability to lead others appropriately.

However, we do not believe that introducing an 18+ age requirement would be an effective or proportionate way of ensuring those qualities.

Age alone is not a reliable measurement of maturity or leadership capability. The network has previously had individuals under the age of 18 successfully hold senior regimental, departmental, staff and server leadership positions. Equally, being over the age of 18 does not automatically mean that someone is suitable to hold a position of authority.

Those considered for a CO position should already have an established history within their regiment. Their conduct, experience, leadership ability and suitability should be assessed by the relevant Commander(s), Foundation Command or Site Administration before they are promoted. Where an individual does not demonstrate the standards expected of the role, they should not be promoted regardless of their age.

The proposed exception allowing Server Leadership to waive the restriction would also substantially undermine the purpose of the rule. If every capable individual under 18 could receive an exemption, the existing case-by-case selection process would effectively remain in place, only with additional administrative steps and unnecessary focus on a player's personal age.

There would also be practical concerns surrounding how age would be confirmed and enforced. We do not believe players should be expected to provide personal identification or other sensitive information to access an in-game role.

For these reasons, the rule suggestion will be denied and will not be implemented.

Edit: By COs I mean the LTCOM/COM
