Content Suggestion Make Containment Units Whitelisted

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
To remove the level requirement for SCU and instead make it a whitelisted job which can be given by a Captain+.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not that I have seen.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Less mingy Containment Units.
- Containment Units will actually do their job or risk their WL getting revoked.
- GSD leadership will have more control over who is on the job.
- People that main GSD will get to play SCU.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- People who dont play GSD a lot will not be able to play SCU anymore

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The Security (emphasis on Security)Containment Unit in my opinion should be played by trusted people in GSD, a lot of the times people on SCU I've never seen before. Also a lot of SCU just ignore comms and do their own thing. I also think it should be exclusive to Gensec, so people have more incentive to play GSD.

Still would be great to have it whitelisted which would allow us to do more stuff. Also, it would work as an Incentive for people to play Gensec , for example they would play GSD so they can get SCU. It will also make SCU more exclusive

It used to be that the riot control license was the whitelist for accessing the riot response jobs - Then when the jobs where updated and changed to SRU & SCU, the license itself was left as is, while the jobs behind it changed. Now the riot control license serves primarily as the whitelist for accessing SRU & SCU. What you're asking for already exists.

While yes it does require some effort to obtain it still only somewhat fixes the minging part. Still, it being whitelisted would allow GSD to have a good exclusive role that would incentivise people to play GSD more.

What if people dont want to be in a leadrship position? Having SCU exclusive would probably encourage more people to play GSD to obtain it, aswell as allow GSD leadership to do more things with the SCU.

Tbh I really hate the whole concept of SCU, it's legit just an E-11. But it doesn't have to be In TS not do hour requirements. Or anything like that...

If people are causing issues on the role we can both remove their licenses and job ban them. If they cause further issues we can blacklist from the license. The only benefit I can see from this is that it would give more player control to dictate who can be on the wl.

I see where you're coming from but as they say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and as people pointed out before, they've already got a sort-of whitelist in the form of the licences. If you see any particularly mingy units you can always take screenshots and use bodycam footage to strip them of their licences, therefore barring them from using the role further.

I must also say, I've not come across any particularly mingy people on this job, every time I've seen them I've seen them do good but it might just be me.

Lasty, I don't want to sound like a dick but it really seems to me like you've got a bit of a bias here. You're a GSD CPT advocating for more control ( Which would be in your hands ) over containment units when you've already got enough?? Having to make a WL would just be a pain in the ass, as if there aren't enough damn WL position and licences to do.

In my opinion being containment unit already requires a high level for SCP which would give players enough time to understand how SCP operate and what they can do. If a player is minging on the job their license can easily be removed then of course contact the correct people to put in a temp blacklist for them getting that license back. We already have enough control on the removal of people on the job.

Which is a fucking good thing. A lot of people don't like having to use TS, let alone want to be obligated to play a certain amount of arbitrary hours.

I don't really see the point in having this role whitelisted. Usually, whitelisted roles come with a lot of abuseable power or have restrictions on how they should be behaving - and this doesn't seem to have that.
