Ladies and gentlemen,
My time in Civil Networks has come to an end. To those that knew me, man, it has been a long and fun ride. I've seen it all, basically: all map updates, experienced key gameplay changes, and interacted with the cornerstones of this server's playerbase amongst players like:
@Nukegoboom;
@Remmy;
@Broda;
@Archaon (I still have your revolver);
Marco (the RDM king - ECD);
@Niox (happy b-day, by the way);
@Athena;
@Assassin (how do I ping you!!!!);
@Kayla;
Kwill;
Jambon (yes, I remember you);
@Yeke (good DoM of '22);
Shady Dave (you turned research into what it should have been when it was needed in '22);
Hamster (The DoR);
Holo Bright (3 fucking years, man);
@Johnson J. Marauder (when hop on TF2???);
@James "Wontolla" Mellow (The trauma team!);
@Michael Walker;
@Maxis 'Cadet' Wellington
@Harvey Bridger;
@Demi;
@MrSiens;
Senkai (Forever Nu-7 huh?);
Steven Connor;
@yoru~
and many many more...
To those that don't know me, I'll let my characters talk (link below). There are some ideas that have been left untouched (really?) and a broken promise I once gave to someone (really?). But most importantly, the story of Eric Peterson is not finished (or is it?).
What I leave below is the end result of what this server is good at: creating talent. The story below is that of a fictional world styled in SCP Foundation thematics (covering the darker side, mostly). Simply put, my "thank you" to the community of CN SCP-RP and later CN SCP-RP UK. I will end it with an adage: never say never.
Earlier on in the server's life, I was an Executive. I took a relaxed approach with the role. It gave me all the needed information on how the original vision of CL4 worked. It turned out fine, but my planned crosstest between SCP-914 and SCP-1162 (the hole SCP) never got out of the planning stages.
Nu-7 was also my home for a couple of months. In Hammer '22, Kwill at his prime was a person who turned Nu-7 into what it is today—a place where most first experience the wonky combat of the servers. His adoption of Hamster's (DSR '21-'22) largely successful subdivision model led Nu-7 to new heights: Hammerheads and Archangels.
Now, moving on to the last points. Earlier I mentioned a couple of things: one of my main character's storyline endings and some ideas that I, intentionally or not, left out. To those who remember my Consultant lore, the build-up was there, but... I tried my best to do something new, yet after getting the position, real life happened and I had to step down in the middle of writing (Senkai and Pennington, yes, this is that document I gave both of you). I still have it, and eventually, when I do come back, if I play my cards right, I promise an experience not yet seen on the server—and probably by a big margin, too.
The last point to cover is a broken promise. Now, I promised someone to achieve something. All I can say is that I have not forgotten; to achieve what I said requires a lot of time. If I ever decide to go for that "award-winning storyline," I promise to reach what I said I will.
That's all from me. Thanks for reading.

In all seriousness, all I wanted to say is that sometimes quantity beats quality, especially when it comes to experience. Let's say a person plays for 6 hours—hooray! They are extremely active, but what of their roleplay? 6 hours daily with not much interaction or led scenarios done. Hmm, probably not the best pick. But wait, the only storyline they are involved with is pure gold, and the community loves it!
I may not be on the same level as the likes of Broda, but when I take up a role, I plan on using it to the fullest (sorry goes to Kayla for my consultant role—got piled up with work very fast). My O1 run was good; I did what I wanted, and the role was decent.
The worst part is that those who choose CL4 roles sometimes become generic position-fillers. This kind of behaviour (as well as occupying roles without others being given the chance), while I appreciate my fellow veterans, diminishes the natural progression of newer players. Why gatekeep some leadership positions? When selecting people for this role group, the first priority should be their activity and the second should be the quality of roleplay they provide within that time.

Pennington, I will be in contact.
- Eric Peterson
I am by no means leaving. This post was in my head for a good 8 or so months by now and was meant to be posted earlier. The intended purpose is to explain my leave of absence. I'm currently serving in the military for 6 months, and the very limited free time on weekends limits the possibility of storylines that are not just generic up-and-down documents, but ones that would involve the entire foundation. This is what is needed the most.
