Content Suggestion Tac Tablet Door Opening 3000

Content Suggestions will be reviewed by Content Team weekly, please allow time as not everything can be reviewed at once.
What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion adds the ability for MTF COs/Department Directors to be able to remotely open doors using their tac tablets.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
The forums search functionality is awful. I don't think it has but please do correct me if I am wrong.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Would break up the monotony of checkpoint gameplay.
- Would allow RP to flow as COs would be able to open bulk doors remotely.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Could be unbalanced.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:

Honestly there have been many times where I am being an epic and awesome E-11 CO and I see that people need the door to HCZ opened and I cannot reach all the way over there in a timely manner.

It should be a feature that is configured based on the rank, much like tac assets, and it would allow you to flag doors as open and closed.

I love the idea, but it's very easily unbalanced. So, here's my take on it.

>Add in the Command Section on Tactablet
>When a door is open/closed remotely have either a small pop up or facility alert state that in chat *OR* have the tablet log door interactions for that day
>To better balance it, link this system to the REMOTE DOOR CONTROL lever that already exists in most electrical rooms [SCP CB asset] Allows the system to be disabled, such as by Deepcovers or other dissidents

I will be making this comment based on the last part of the suggestion where you explain why It should be accepted; Almost every blast door except PW and HCZ lower blast door (between 076 and 079) can be already remotely opened or closed by CCTV's so I don't think this is necessary. You can also ask floor 3 and such if you are not close to the HCZ CCTV room too.

Another thing is that CI and GOC missions and raids would be pain because if you time it right you can technically keep closing blast doors the moment they open.

The idea is nice, but it's horrifically abusable. The only reason it's not abused via cams atm is because cams are ass - And even if they weren't, those are still in specific, checkable static locations. This would enable that behaviour from literally anywhere. You could sit in an obscure corner somewhere and just close/open a door for the rest of your session.

for a compromise along these lines, but even then you're potentially looking at too much development effort for a feature that, while cool, is still significantly riskier than if we didn't have it at all.
