Discord name: RazSteel (Investigator Jonah Madrion on CG SCP RP Discord)
For how long have you played on CG SCP: I have been on CG SCP for a number of years, probably since 2022, but my playtime overall since then isn't that high as I have had multitude of external obligations. Recently, I've been playing quite a bit for a good few weeks.
Age: 25
In what country are you located?: UK
Time zone: GMT
Character name(s): Jonah 'Eclipse' Madrion, Alexis Yanova(New)
Civilian name: Jonah Madrion
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
Currently holding: ISD Investigator
I have held in the past: MTF E-11, MTF O-1, Consultant.
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
-Two warnings, both in early 2022. One for AFK, so not a warning.
-One for job abuse. I honestly can't remember why exactly, probably switched jobs when cuffed.
Why are you applying for Internal Security Inspector?
To try and provide additional leadership towards ISD Personnel, and help guide or teach other personnel whatever they may need to know as they work on-site. I hope to further push my own personal RP forward whilst involving others on-site and within the department in it as much as possible, as well as help improve the overall image of ISD with excellent RP and showing that we are constantly improving and learning, and involving the site as a whole in the RP ISD can provide too.
What makes you suitable for Internal Security Inspector?:
II have common sense, and I can act independently when needed. But I also know when to ask for assistance, nor am I afraid to do so. If there I something I do not know, or I am wrong about I am more than happy to learn and improve, that to me is an important aspect of any leadership position. Another important aspect is communication. I do my utmost to talk with other ISD members, and keep in contact. If I am asked by another ISD member a question, I will try to answer it, or lead them to the answer if I am not sure myself or believe it is the best for them. I am quite knowledgeable on the law, and have the FLC on hand at all times, both in externals and of course available on the tablet and I am constantly checking it to keep myself reminded and up to date.
I would personally like to push more RP towards investigations, and gathering proper evidence along with documentation of it. Whether it's used for any sort of tribunal or jailtime, or not doesn't matter, but putting the effort into concise and proper investigatory procedures is fun, engaging and educational for all members of ISD, and should hopefully provide RP opportunities for all involved.
What do you think describes an ideal Internal Security Inspector?:
Fair and just. Knowing when to be lenient, and when to be strict, sometimes this can affect how the person being told off or arrested learns in the future after they are released. Having good knowledge of the law, FLC and site policies/procedures. Willing to work with others both inside the department and out to ensure lawful conduct is followed. Being willing to learn how to, or able to be a teacher is important, as you help teach Agents, Operatives and Investigators with enforcing the law.
How many major, roleplay-serving documents have you written? What makes a document of this nature good in terms of quality?:
I've been writing a lot more recently, some not of note; but it has been a fun learning experience. The ones most recent and of note are detailed below:
I have written two ISD RP templates. One for a general security rating of certain sectors for ISD personnel to use when patrolling, and another for a current ongoing ISD project; AMMENDS. It's not that long, and is short and simple as it doesn't need more than a couple pages for basic interviews. It is easily expanded upon should it be needed by personnel using it. It was my first template, so it could be better, but the overall goal of it is both easy to understand and interesting.
One completed security report of my own, consisting of four pages. The document I personally believe is of good quality. While not extensive, it is concise and underlines any and all issues, or positives well without needless words.
As my researcher character, I have been working on an extensive RP document for research on SCP-1025, that is currently ongoing. It requires multiple tests and so far it has been fun to do, and will likely take a fair bit of time until it is complete and published. Though the goal is a little unusual and simple in nature, it is in a way unique, as I believe it's unlikely anyone has done any sort of study like it.
What are the responsibilities of the Internal Security Inspector in RP?:
The Inspector position has a variety of responsibilities in RP, all of which are equally important to ISD as an overall role. An Inspector is a leadership position within the ISD, they help guide and teach ISD personnel on the job; and to elaborate on teaching Inspectors are permitted to allow new personnel to join ISD by helping them with initial training and the first test. The teaching side of the job is not only for new individuals, but for all Agents, Operatives and Investigators. No one knows everything, but experience is something an Inspector should have a good amount of; and something they can use to assist their ISD members by sharing it with them through trainings and overseeing operations.
To expand on trainings; aside from the initial induction training an Inspector could do a variety of other trainings. From basic killhouse exercises, detainment practices and giving lessons on the law as well. All of which can help ISD personnel in the process of their work on site. Not necessarily a training, but Inspectors can authorise checkpoints on site to make sure the site is secure should there be need for it, and should guide and position personnel to make sure this is run smoothly; whilst telling them what they need to do in case they are unaware or unsure.
Inspectors are someone in which personnel will look too for paperwork, a rather overlooked part of a role for some people. In RP an Inspector can sign and write multiple documents, and should also share templates, and teach them to other personnel. Like arrest warrants, reports and so on. Should personnel need help with documents, be it wording, organisation or not sure what to put down or which template to use, an Inspector should be able to help; or find out what should be needed within the document.
Please elaborate on why you think you'd be a good leadership position holder for Internal Security:
Learning. As stated prior, I consider myself a quick learner. Though I am knowledgeable on the law, documentation and responsibilities of ISD there always things I wont know perfectly, or may be wrong about- and that is something I am always willing to improve myself on. I am always sure to check on laws in the case that I, or someone else is not sure of what an exact charge or breach may be to ensure a fair punishment of the law and they know what exactly they have done wrong or should do otherwise.
Experience is an important aspect to being an Inspector, though I may not be the most experienced member of ISD, I would say I have been involved in a fair amount of situations and have handled them all well, and at the very least learned from them if not. From a fair few basic arrests of disorderly site staff, to conducting a couple of murder investigations and helping in a couple of audits even. I have even been fairly involved in a few major investigations as well; a couple that are concluded. There are also some ongoing investigations that are taking multiple personnel and over the course of multiple days too.
I don't have just experience in arrests or investigations, but in working with my fellow ISD Personnel to keep the site secure and safe. Conducting routine security checks or inspections, assisting other departments in the event they should need it whether thats with unlawful behaviour or mediating tense sitatuations, and even helping enforce a quarantine once. I have a decent skill in combat too should situations call for it, I may not be a marksman or super skilled but I consider myself above average in that regard, and when it comes to a more strategic view; I believe I am quite capable. A strategic mind in my opinion can be quite helpful in ISD; knowing how suspects or hostiles may act can help in a swift detainment, arrest or (hopefully not) neutralisation in the event they get hostile.
Documentation and paperwork. When I joined ISD, I believed this to be my biggest weakness; but I think I've improved considerably. I've made a couple of templates for ISD, which are still new but I believe of decent quality. I've written up a couple of documents based on these too; including a good length report on security in HCZ. I found these sorts of documents are something I am better at than I initially thought. Another side of document aside from reports and paperwork is the documentation of evidence. I have my bodycam on near all the time, and I am sure to record any and all evidence, unlawful actions as often as I can to make sure that both I; as an ISD agent are safe and lawful; and that in the case of prosecution that there is evidence to be shown for it.
Please give some lore about your Internal Security Inspector character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Currently, Jonah is involved a few interesting storylines. While not at the head of them he's very much involved and active within them. An ongoing bomb threat investigation, involving multiple potential personnel with cryptic messages and codes. Working alongside other departments to root out any potential breaks to the FLC, including the abuse of SCP's.
In future, I hope to be more closely involved in long term investigations, and working alongside the Ethics Committee. Additionally, RP involving SCP's is quite intriguing, listening in on interviews with RSD personnel and figuring out if there are potential issues with site personnel, and handling it if it involves the potential abuse of SCP's and/or law breaks and documenting it.
