What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Remove the need to hit a knocked down player to kill them. The desync nature of corpses in gmod means that it's infuriating to try and locate the 'corpse' that you're supposed to be flaying on the ground. Yes I know you can just look for the gun/nametag, but often this isn't good enough. In a fight with multiple people, it's a ridiculously tedious task and makes SCP-8854 unfun and awkward to play.
I suggest adding another attack to RMB that is a small aoe of some kind that flays corpses. I feel that making it autoflay upon knockdown would be too OP so this feels like a happy medium.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2)
  • SCP-8854 becomes more fun to play.
  • SCP-8854 isn't awkwardly looking for an invisible corpse while you're fighting him (less immersion breaking).
  • Improve the quality/polish of this particular SCP/gameplay
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
  • SCP-8854 could be a lot stronger as a result, but honestly, if its weak because of buggy, unfun mechanics, who cares, it can be nerfed some other way.
  • Dev time to add a new RMB attack?
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This suggestion should be accepted because the gameplay loop for SCP-8854 is fundamentally buggy and unfun. You can call it a skill issue but skill shouldn't need to compensate for clearly glitchy/unreliable gameplay loops.

I'm assuming this means that 8854 can't attack the ragdolled model of the player, only the actual player entity (which can become separated)? If so, it might be possible to just fix that issue - as far as I'm aware, medics can defib a player's corpse based on the actual ragdoll location, which looks a bit daft from other player's perspective sometimes due to desync, but would solve this issue. Might be possible to change the 8854 down hits to work like that.

Suggestion Denied

Hi @Bananaa
Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.
The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion due to the following reasons.

We believe the current system is effective, as requiring players to stop and finish off a ragdolled target allows the target's teammates to respond, adding a layer of balance. This prevents the ability from becoming an instant-kill tool for mass eliminations.

Your suggestion will now be locked and marked as denied.
