What does this suggestion change/add/remove?

This suggestion gives 2 options that would make adjustments to salaries within the Medical Department:

Option 1 – Increases the Combat Medic salary from $60 → $80, matching Senior Doctors (other CL3 in department) and other CL3 personnel. Currently, Combat Medic appears to be the lowest-paid CL3 position within the Foundation.

OR

Option 2 – This option aims to rebalance the Medical Department’s salaries as a whole to help support the department's demands. Unlike other jobs, Medical staff regularly spend their own money on creating medicines, and treating broken bones. For new players, this can quickly become expensive and discouraging. By slightly raising salaries, Medical staff will have more freedom to focus on their roleplay, like healing, assisting during emergencies, and keeping the site personnel healthy without worrying about running out of money. Also with medical being an almost all noncombative department with a lot of rp potential, hopefully this will encourage more players to play and stay active on medical jobs. (This will also fix the combat medic making less then others). The changes will be as followed, with an estimate of the pay:

Trainee: $40 -> $50-$60
Doctor: $60 -> $70-$80
Pharmacist: $60 -> $70-$80
Senior Doctor: $80 -> $80-$90
Combat Medic: $60 -> $80-$90
Consultant: $100 -> $120-$150
DoM: $150 -> $165-$175

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?
Not that I could find.

Possible Positives of the suggestion:

  • Provides fairer compensation to Combat Medics relative to other CL3 positions.
  • Eases financial strain on new Medical players
  • Encourages more people to play Medical roles, hopefully leading to more rp

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

  • Increasing pay could lead to more players picking Medical primarily for the salary
  • May require adjustments to other departments
  • Inflation?
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted?

This suggestion will hopefully improve a balance by ensuring Medical personnel are compensated for their responsibilities and expenses. It allows for new players to contribute without needing to ask for more money, while still leaving Research as the higher-paid department. Hopefully this small adjustment would help with medical roleplay, and not break the game.

Always been supportive of Medical receiving game-mechanic encouraged payment for using chems on other people to cure sicknesses to be honest. I feel like that's just gone completely unresolved since illnesses have been added and is just accepted now. +Support but there should be more paid to the medical department when actually chem-curing patients anyways, the difference compared to Research's salary aside.

I fully agree on the getting paid for curing people, I also ended up rewriting the 2nd option, after rereading it, so it focused more on RP than comparing departments
