Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
The reason I’m applying for Executive Researcher is because I truly enjoy working as a Senior Researcher, and I want to do even more for the department and the Foundation. I also want to support Junior Researchers with their tests, as well as assist other Researchers and Seniors whenever they need help.
Additionally, one of my main motivations for pursuing this role is the ability to provide legal counsel and guidance to Researchers who are facing accusations or misunderstandings. I believe everyone deserves proper representation and support, especially when they are working hard to contribute to the Foundation.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
I believe I am well-suited for the role of Executive Researcher due to my professionalism, dedication, and willingness to support others. I take pride in my work and always strive to contribute positively to the Foundation. Some of the qualities and experiences I bring to the role include:
  • Patience and professionalism when working with staff and SCPs
  • Strong communication skills, always willing to listen and help others
  • Supportive leadership, assisting both Junior and Senior Researchers with their studies
  • Experience writing detailed and high-quality research documents
  • Direct involvement in several successful SCP research studies
Overall, I care deeply about the success of the Research Department and the Foundation as a whole, and I am ready to take on greater responsibilities to help it continue to grow.

>How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?

I currently have around four excellent documents and five good documents. I believe that what separates an excellent document from a good one is the level of detail, structure, and presentation it provides. In my view, an excellent research document includes:
  • A clear and well-structured layout
  • Strong grammar and professional writing quality
  • Thorough incident or experiment reports, documented accurately and in detail
  • A well-supported conclusion that reflects the study’s findings
  • Relevant imagery or visual documentation to reinforce the information
  • Logical flow and readability, making it easy for others to understand
These standards are what I strive for in every document I create.

>What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:

The role of an Executive Researcher carries significant responsibility in maintaining the safety, professionalism, and performance of the Research Department. Key duties include:
  • Maintaining positive relationships with all site departments to ensure smooth collaboration
  • Escorting Researchers and Junior Researchers to breach shelters during high-level containment emergencies (e.g., Code Level 5)
  • Acting as a role model by demonstrating high professionalism, discipline, and leadership
  • Organizing large-scale research operations involving multiple staff members and SCPs
  • Reviewing and grading research documents, providing constructive feedback to improve quality
  • Supporting and guiding staff when they face accusations or administrative complications
  • Ensuring safe research practices and helping staff follow Foundation protocols at all times

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Foundation Personnel File – Research Department
────────────

Name: Dr. Daniel Jackson
Place of Birth: [REDACTED], Scotland
Department: Research
Clearance: Level 3
Position: Senior Researcher — Executive Applicant
────────────

Background & Foundation Service
────────────

Dr. Daniel Jackson started his career in archaeology and field anthropology, doing stratigrapic surveys and digs across Egypt to check tombs and ancient artifacts. On one of these trips, he found a previously unknown temple complex deep in the Sahara. The temple had inscriptions in Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs mixed with what looked like Neo-Babylonian cuneiform — pretty weird for that region.

At the center was a golden brooch on a pedestal lit up by sunlight. When Daniel picked it up, he got sudden visions of the temple being built and the rituals and work involved. Shocked, he dropped it at first, but then grabbed it again to study it closer.

He wrote a report and uploaded it to his university archive. The Foundation found it and contacted him about the brooch and the visions. They were impressed with how he explained it and his knowledge, so they offered him a Researcher position.

────────────

Daniel started as a Junior Researcher, studying SCP-1025, The Book of Normal Diseases, which he found really interesting. He wrote a bunch of reports on it during this time.

He got promoted to Researcher and later to Senior Researcher because of his consistent work and willingness to take on risky tests.

────────────

As a Senior Researcher, Daniel did a cross-test with SCP-099 and SCP-294 — “The Coffee Machine”, and his report got an Excellent rating.

He also did a high-risk test with SCP-073 and SCP-076 that caused a mass lockdown and a lot of casualties in the facility. Even with that, he’s planning a follow-up test to study them more carefully and try to reduce the risk.

In addition, Daniel did a test with SCP-106, mapping its dimension. He spent weeks tracking movement patterns, mapping areas, and seeing how 106 moves and reacts. This turned out to be really useful when the Foundation was investigating the disappearance of a Director of Research, helping to narrow down locations and improve containment plans. The info is now being used as a reference for future high-risk SCP procedures.

────────────

Looking ahead, Daniel wants to do experiments with SCP-682 and SCP-079, focusing on extreme containment scenarios and testing the limits of anomalous behavior under controlled conditions.

Daniel Jackson is now seeking promotion to Executive Researcher, hoping to take on more responsibility and keep contributing to the Research Department and the Foundation as a whole.

You may do good tests every now and then, but your name always comes up within the group of researcher that are always messing around and causing trouble for RSD, doing things like: throwing grenades randomly, injecting each other with 106, shooting one another randomly.
