Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
- I am applying to be a medical consultant due to the fact I have always had a soft spot for medical and had been one of the primary GOC members that worked with the Medical department back when I was in GOC. I believe being in medical it also displays regards to empathy while within a professional setting.
I've always enjoyed the aspects of medical RP and enjoy new challenges that come my way. Medical RP is by far something I have become intrigued with whether it's doing a psych eval or even doing events regarding a biohazard infection spreading across site.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
- I am professional around others and do my best to ensure the safety and well being out Foundation staff. Also I have a very good understanding of the Code of Ethics and the Code of conduct as I have plenty of time to understand from my prior time as an executive researcher.
Medical has been something that intrigues me from being able to help others when needed, as well as just being able to provide aid for those in need. For me being able to assist better with my position I want to ensure that medical remains a safe place for everyone whether they are injured or just in need of a mental health assistance.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
-Psych Evals
With Psych Evals normally it comes down to one of two things. The personnel member that undergoes a psych eval either presents mental health issues outside of the norm with primarily psychotic break downs or they ask for one personally due to some event that may have occured that is starting to bother them.
During Psych evals it's best to remain calm and have a soft tone of voice in order to ensure that the person undergoing the evaluation feels safe and comfortable during the session. While asking them a list of questions its best to remain professional as well as keep an eye for potential tells that may be bothering the individual as there are different forms of mental health issues.
Individuals who show signs of depression often seem to struggle with sleeping and seem more sluggish. Usually another good identifier based on the individual is the sound of their voice or if they seem to act out of normal with barely any response to questions or conversations.
Meanwhile those who present anxiety or trauma response signs seem to be more on edge, unable to sleep, some tell tale signs is they seem uneasy have conversations with others or could present signs of panic attacks occuring due to trigger words or trigger scenerios.
Usually with psych evals it's better to continue following up with the patient as well as decide whether or not they need to have medicine administered for daily or as needed use. With this we can help personnel with therapy or continued monitoring as needed.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
-The responsibilities of medical consultant is the follow the code of ethics and code of conduct as well remain professional during a medical setting.
They are meant to assist Sr. Doctors, Doctors, and Trainees in their procedures as needed as well as be able to respond to questions that may be asked of them. They are also responsible for approving special procedures as well as handling higher level medical situations that require them. They are also able to ensure that the code of conduct and code of ethics are followed and not being violated in any scenerio.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Athena 'Star' Vexen having left the facility for quite some time had refused to return to research and found her way into the medical department. She had always had a soft spot for those in need and found her calling being a Sr. Doctor. Athena knows advanced robotics as well which allows her to have knowledge revolving around android entities and personnel. With her medical knowledge she finds a sense of purpose in helping others and often does her best to ensure the safety and weing of others.
Some storylines she would be involved in is taking the lead in projects of discovering something new whether it is a new disease or better solutions to a problem that may occur within the medical department. She is also known to work with patients who need psych evaluations primarily because she has always found interest in the human brain and figuring out different forms of mental illnesses.
