Why are you applying for Director of External Affairs?:
Usually, I'd start an application off like this by talking about how the department is in such a dire state and needs someone to bring it back up from the grave- but to be honest, DEA is doing very well at the moment! With our current Leadership team and array of new Special Agents and enlisted players, I'm confident that we're on the right path in general. However, with the lack of both Director spots open and our current Director on LOA, I'm interested in filling up that void and time where the other Director isn't available, to help the department move as smoothly as possible. Throughout my time in DEA, I've had a blast and I'd consider it probably the most fun experience I've had on the Foundation side of things so far, alongside my current Manager position being my greatest personal achievement so far on the server. Although, I feel like there's always new heights to climb and I am very confident in my ability to maintain and boost our current track record to put DEA in the best spot it possibly can be in. Furthermore, there are several different ideas and proposals I want to put into effect during my tenure as a Manager and they'd be far easier to implement as a Director properly. For example, I have assisted my fellow Managers in laying the groundwork for a rework of one of our sub-offices to help it garner more attention. In addition, I think some components of DEA are a little old and need to be properly brought up to date, so I plan to go over our handbook and all current departmental policies. Taking everything into account, I'm sure that taking the next step in my Foundation career is the best option for me as of now, alongside for the department as a whole.

What makes you suitable for Director of External Affairs?:
First of all, my extensive track record in high-trust roles is probably my most valuable quality when moving up to a Director's position. For example, in my time as an Overseer's Assistant, I've risen to the rank of Factotum through acting appropriately, maintaining roleplay standards and creating opportunities for roleplay in general through projects and orders. On the actual departmental side of things, I think I've created enough of an impact to where I can be properly trusted to actually innovate and bring a breath of fresh air to the department, rather than sitting idly by. There's a massive opportunity at present to boost the popularity of DEA in the eyes of newer players, and I fully intend to capitalise on it and bring some newblood in wherever I can. Moving on, I've demonstrated my competence when it comes to the various roleplay and mechanical systems on the server, such as high quality documentation and roleplay ability. I have sat in on many diplomatic talks between Groups of Interest (GOC & MC&D in particular) and this has helped build up my personal skills. Finally, I think I'm generally easy to talk to and bring up issues with. The most important duty a Director holds is to listen and take action when concerns are raised by their departmental members, and I am very confident in my ability to do so while remaining both fair and reliable. There are many ideas I hope to implement as a Department Director and I'm hopeful that they will be welcomed by Site Administration and the rest of the department.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of External Affairs in RP?:
The first and most important responsibility of the DoEA is to well, direct their department. They are the primary leader of the department and are expected to facilitate its daily operations and duties on-site. This may take the form of delegating tasks to their Leadership team or giving out direct orders to their personnel to properly complete their assigned duties.

In RP, all Department Directors must properly liaise with Site Administration when possible to cooperate on any departmental changes or problems. This may include working with Site Administration on new policies that may affect the department, or implementing changes where they are needed to prevent issues from spiralling out of control.

Another responsibility of the DoEA specifically is to manage the Foundation's relations with Groups of Interest, as is the main goal of their department. While this may often include input from Site Administration, generally, the final say is with the Department Director.

The DoEA must manage their Leadership team by promoting CL4 personnel (SPA/Managers) while taking action where it is necessary if members of their Leadership team are acting out of line. In addition, they are expected to work with their Leadership team to implement changes so that they can be streamlined and properly relayed.

Finally, DoEA's represent their Department as a whole within the Foundation. Maintaining cross-departmental relations is one of their major duties which helps to ensure all operations run smoothly, especially as External Affairs often works in tandem with other groups like MTF Nu-7 and the Internal Security Department.

All Directors also hold the responsibilities of a Sr. CL4, such as authorising AA, turning on teslas & FSL, authorisating certain documentation, etc.

Please give some lore about your Director of External Affairs character and what storylines they would be involved in:
