Why are you applying for Site Advisor?
I’m applying for the position of Site Advisor as I’d like to be in a position where I can create and engage in more passive roleplay. I feel I have already been doing this during my time as an ECA, and I feel like this is the next step.
Furthermore, I truly want what’s best for all the departments on the server, and would like to be an active influence on the quality of the roleplay they’re producing, and having a voice in positively influencing their gameplay loops. I truly would like to be in a position where I can bring my experience to the table and use that in a way to help out around the site.
I would also like to use this experience as a chance to work on my leadership and documentation skills. I had forayed into this as Director of Research, but I feel this is the next logical step in honing those skills.
What makes you suitable for Site Administration?:
I believe I’m suitable for the role of Site Administration for a multitude of reasons, however I feel as if the most important one is my activity and willingness to help around the site. I have prior experience in a Sr. CL4 role, meaning that I know how to manage a team and ensure that it's effective and fun for everyone to play, and through this knowledge, I have an understanding of how to maintain positive gameplay loops for departments. Furthermore, I have prior experience in policy creation, so I’m comfortable developing and debating policies that address the route issue of the problem it’s trying to solve.
I’m also quite approachable and I intend to play my character as such. I genuinely just want to see other departments thrive and play a part in making sure that that does happen.
What are the responsibilities of Site Administration in RP?:
With Site Advisor being a very versatile and open role in capabilities of roleplay, and the sheer amount of responsibilities they do have, I am more than certain I have missed some off here, however I have attempted to write down what I believe to be the most important responsibilities of Site Admin.
Oversight
Site Administration is tasked with the oversight of several departments on site, including: Medical, Research, DEA, GSD, Nu-7, E-11, ET&S.
The primary duties of Oversite are:
- Appointing departmental leads for said departments.
- Ensuring that they are excelling in their role as respective department head
- Ensuring that the department as a whole is operating in a positive way
- Ensuring that they are indeed creating roleplay and managing their respective department.
- Acting as a monthly liaison to a determined department to handle all queries and taskings given to you by the respective department.
It is paramount to ensure that members of site admin aren't overstepping when managing these departments, as it has a tendency to interrupt or flatline ongoing roleplay.
Roleplay
Site Admin has the added responsibility to not only engage in roleplay, but also create roleplay.
The primary duties of Roleplay are:
- Ensuring that department heads are given tasks to create passive roleplay.
- The above also goes for assistants, as SA has the ability to give taskings to assistants.
- Acting as a known and public facing presence within the site, responding to all relevant queries.
Miscellaneous responsibilities
- Site Administration are also tasked with these Misc responsibilities:
- Authorising Advanced Armory as the first step when a breach has the capability to negatively impact server health.
- Deploying ERT as the second step when a breach has the capability to negatively impact server health, or when it has lasted longer than 10 minutes (This is very situational.)
- Managing and maintaining the various sitewide policies, such as the zone jurisdiction policy.
- Authorising passive breaches of SCP’s for various purposes, primarily research or to ‘reward’ an scp for being particularly passive.
- Maintaining the relationship with the GOI’s on the server.
- Being a general helping hand for those on the server that require assistance.
- General responsibilities that come with being in a CL4 role.
