Hey E-11 Major here from the US Server and I wanted to spitball some ideas after thinking on a few things.
Suggestions:
1. Repurposing the regiment's SOP and purpose: (Move us off-site, or out of HCZ and closer to EZ/Surface.)
This will achieve the following that the content team wanted for E-11:
- A MTF that feels elite and fun to play, but not overpowered
- A team with a meaningful gameplay loop beyond combat
- A role that's fun to play and isn't racking up burnout from constant SCP breaches
- A functional MTF that serves as the primary line between SCPs breaches and a Code Black
- What should E-11 be doing outside of containing breaches?
- Are there new tools, gear, or roles they could have?
- Are there better ways to separate E-11 from other combat roles beyond just SCP combat?
- How can E-11’s containment tools or methods be more interactive?
- What would make playing in E-11 more rewarding in the long term to limit burnout?
Purpose for suggestion:
As we all know, all MTF units in the lore of SCP were always stationed off-site while the security department handled all site security for every zone, including Heavy Containment. I think by implementing this for the regiment it would not only add to the immersion of SCP lore, but it would add quite a few additions and balances to the server as a whole.
For starters, GSD would have the room to become a more fleshed out and serious department with room for content additions to support this. HCZ would need to be looked after and the GSD would be responsible for this as they are site security should E-11 be moved as suggested. This could either mean more SCU or another sub-department entirely dedicated to HCZ security, maybe the TRT lore security that responded to small scale breaches before E-11 was called to secure mass scale breaches. This could help establish a more sophisticated tiered response system to breaches, which would be: GSD (1-2 breaches on-site) > E-11 (3-4 breaches on-site) > ERT (5+ breaches/Code Black) > Nuke (ERT has died and E-11 can not get the breach controlled to a satisfactory level.) This would also add flare and interest in moving forward in GSD and staying within the department as it would be the "first responder" to these situations.
Next, it would make the regiment feel elite while remaining fun to play while executing its desired function of responding to SCP breaches. It would add an intimidation factor to the regiment from SCP players knowing the more organized unit of personnel that specializes in re-containment efforts are requested to come on-site and handle the breaches currently going on. One would argue it'd be exciting knowing the SCPs are scrambling about to avoid an eventual encounter with E-11 arriving on-site utilizing tactics that have been drilled into their memory. While breaches were not being ran, containment effort tactics could be ran off-site by NCOs and such.
This would also add more life to the surface, should the surface be chosen for the housing of E-11, and aid entertainment to GOIs as a result. CI's main purpose is to disrupt foundation operations and seize assets to sell to the highest bidder. This could be a possibility by deliberately disrupting E-11's arrival to the site to complete their containment missions. GOC experiencing issues with securing SCPs could request foundation assistance and SA could dispatch E-11, who specialize in handling in SCPs, to complete this task with complete organization and discipline. More flare could be added to arrivals on-site using vehicle convoys or other special entry methods in an organized manner. It would additionally present SA with a new resource to use during times of crisis on-site and fore whatever else they see fit.
There are other small things that would be better in health and balance, in my opinion. But these are my main points to this part of the suggestion.
2. New Loadout Changes and Additions:
I would honestly say my time with the ERAD has been abysmal at best. I would propose reworking the p90 or FHR-40 to be a slightly above average weapon and have the primary weaponry be the new standard for E-11 to enhance more towards a improved and lore aesthetic loadout. Being that we deal with SCPs, I feel as though the containment beams should be a standard for our loadouts as well instead of having to wait for dispense times and look like an unprepared fool in front of outside departments when they are telling E-11 to beam a rampaging SCP killing everyone.
The server has a playermodel for E-11 that comes equipped with an exoskeleton. I've noticed many people propose either adding an o-suit, juggernaut or combat medic variant to E-11. None of which would necessarily make sense for the following reasons: O-suit could never outrun or evade SCPs effectively and has no real combat edge to dealing with them, Juggs would have the same issue as the O-suit, and Combat medics could serve their medic functions as you usually die 99% of the time when encountering SCPs. I would propose using the exoskeleton model on an E-11 model of the dev team choosing to create a new unique class exclusive to E-11, the "Exo Soldier." The features would be a slightly boosted jump height and run speed, which are not direct and inherently "overpowered" traits. The speed and jump height makes sense for the exo suit being used and directly improves gameplay for E-11 during breaches without giving a huge edge against the SCPs in terms of firepower and does not overpower enemy GOIs with altered health and armor pools.
