What will you do to stop this from happening again: I can take a deeper look into the description of the ranger job.
Why should you be unbanned:
(For some context, there was about 4-5 rangers on doing a war after we were instigated by the foundation and ignored by GOC)
Starting off,
We were raided at the ranger station because we arrested a disguised DEA on accident. We had won the raid, even with the foundation's chemical warfare, after a heavy gun dealer gave us RPKs. The foundation must of been quite upset because they decided to throw more grenades and red phosphorus grenades at us after the raid, killing 2 rangers and downing another. The rangers were also called out to be KOS by the foundation which just cemented the fact that they wanted an all out war. We decided to also put a KOS on them after they ran over a ranger in a tank.
Shortly after this an event started right outside of theranger station. There was maybe 30-40 people there including DEA, Nu-7, and other regiments. Thinking that maybe the war had been paused since there was an event, me and another ranger went over to go check it out. This is when the other ranger was gunned down by what looked to be at least 10 bullet trails while he had his gun on safety and was no threat. I took this as a sign that their was still a war since no staff member had said other wise, I turned the corner and began to shoot the combatives in the front.
To conclude,
I don't believe that simply shooting a crowd of combative people we are at war with is MRDM. No staff member had told any of us the war was paused and thus I feel the MRDM ban was not warranted. I learned after the incident from 'Crush' that It would have been better to talk to GOC and the mayor and roleplayed it out over multiple days to start a war. I didn't really understand this because from what I know there is nothing stating that if we are having literal war crimes perpetrated against us we can't fight back. I don't think we should have to go talk to the 2 UNGOC online after they blatantly ignored the war crimes that the foundation committed. I know they blatantly ignored the war crimes because they watched the raid from outside the ranger station from beginning to end including the red phosphorus grenades thrown at us.
On another note, I do understand how it looked like MRDM though. I spent about 20 seconds asking for another ranger to come over in TS, which they didn't, so it may have looked like I just walked over and started shooting. No blame too Crush, it was my fault not explaining the situation clearer in the sit. It was late at night and I was under stress of a 6 week ban which put made me give a sloppy and stumbled explanation.
