Biography:

Ivan Sidorovich, an Ontokinetic Alumni of Three Portland's Deer College, was brought to the Foundation's attention after a well-meaning lecture at Linfield University's McMinnville Campus on the topic of 'Magic, and Where to Find It'. While the school's Occult presence is small and might've normally gone unnoticed, the unusual appearance of Mr. Sidorovich brought on a cascade of concerns that ended at our doorstep. Acquiring Dr. Sidorovich as a Foundation asset (Whether as a POI, or as a to-be member of staff) became a simple task due to his cooperation and willingness to work with Site Administration. Ivan Sidorovich, after a proper onboarding, was transferred South to Site-300 to work with the Department of Applied Thaumaturgy. There he would share his studies and resources with the DAT, aiding them to further the Foundation's understanding of Reality Bending and its various applications through belief and physical structure. After Seven years at Site-300, Ivan was transferred to Reliquary Area-27 to aid in the Department of Tactical Theology's Biblical and Hermetic applications. After three more years at Area-27 he was relocated to the nearby (globally speaking) Site-65. Upon his transfer to Site-65, Ivan went right to work studying SCPs revolving around the Occult and leaning into the more Alchemical side of the Site's CRB Division under Research and Development. As of recent, he has come to a sort of obsession with SCP-012; It's confirmed he is unaffected by the memetic thus far, but his interest could prove dangerous down the line.

Regarding this individual's augmentation, it does not seem to have any connection with Sarkic-affiliated groups, and was purely performed to 'Fit the aesthetic'. As well, it does not appear to provide any benefit to the individual, nor is it connected to direct or indirect practices. So long as Dr. Sidorovich does not enter public areas unveiled, these augmentations are permitted.

To explain the look a bit better:

This character is made out to be more so of a professor/scholar than someone who messes with test-tubes and beakers, hence the outfit currently on him. The animalistic look (that being, the skull) is purely for cosmetic use, as I feel like a Thaumaturge isn't complete without something off about their appearance whether obvious or hidden well. He is made to be a more classical scholar, as I said in prior sentences, whose focus will dig deeper into the mystical and arcane side of the Foundation, and of the anomalies we have on server. My primary focus will be SCP-012, a piece of sheet music, which I feel is appropriate for both sides of this character's nature (classical scholar & occult professor).

The idea for this character came from my earlier fascinations (2019) of the structure of Thaumaturgy presented in various SCP articles (Primarily T.D. Moose's), and a character I played once in a WWC; a Hermetic who focused on the careful study and creation of enchantments for everyday use, to aid in the small things. With Irnok now acting as my Overseer Assistant, I felt the need to separate my slots through different characters, hence the introduction of Ivan Sidorovich.

As it stands, I have prepared much already for his introduction; A 10+ page lecture in small text with the word count filled on each page, documents to introduce the character to Site Administration, as well as the consultants (un-filled psyche evaluations that I'll require for myself before beginning Executive duties), and a whole list of possible events that I wish to work out with the GM Team to provide content for Research and combative departments (yes, CI/GOC included), both combative and passive without disturbing the nature of any single faction. I hope to lay out a ground level for Thaumaturgic Paradigms on the server and introduce minor enchantments to aid people's passive RP and enhance their experience through such.

Anyways, that is all I can think to write on Ivan for now; Much too busy watching cameras on Floor 3, and working on documents for his hopeful introduction, and the research division that would follow. If you have any questions, complaints, or suggestions, you can message me on discord; Spina_Ouroboros is my user-tag, and my DMs are always open. Thank you for reading, and have a nice day!

Hello @Ouroboros ,

You mention that the skull on your head is purely aesthetic, could you elaborate more on the reasoning for why you wear it? I feel as though just putting an animal skull on your head for kicks is a bit of a lackluster reasoning.

Also, can you explain what exactly the "Purple" ethnicity is? Purely for my own curiosity.

Two great questions! I'll start with the 'Purple' ethnicity:

So, Alchemy uses Silver as a major component; this is generally true across most of its practice (as far as we have it documented). It's on the same level as gold in terms of usage and application, and things tend to happen when one is introduced to silver for too long, or consumes enough of it. This is a disease referred to as Argyria [refer to Allergies/Conditioned].

Argyria is a nasty thing, occasionally proving fatal due to the rising toxicity level of so much silver stored in the body. However, this isn't as true if you're a studying Thaumaturge. Now, as for why it's listed as the character's ethnicity- This is purely for gits and shiggles. As his original skin tone, hair color, eye color, etc. is not visible I thought it'd be funny enough to just label him as 'purple'.

Now we move onto the head:

Deer College students are known for their strange studies, and magical outcomes. The Divisions of Unnatural Science (Alchemy), Magical Arts (Thaumatology, Ritual Studies), and Metaphysics (Theology [applied & theoretical] and Ontokinetics) are what Ivan here would have a focus in at such a school (at least, on the magical side of things). With those studies in mind, think of this appearance as an augmentation to show off his accomplishments; augmentation of the body is widely common in the anomalous community, especially with newly taught magicians.

Now, onto specifics, we'll think of the skull (an anomalous augmentation of his body) to be a representation of his achievements, studies, and proof of his practice. While some may physically alter themselves for shits and giggles, Ivan would do so out of pride for his craft. As to why it's purely aesthetic; this is because it offers no real benefit to the individual. It doesn't allow him to turn into a pile of bones, see into the future, or remove his head. It is a mantel piece (albeit on his mantel) that exists for aesthetic and bragging reasons.
